We work with teachers who are passionate about meeting people and playing an essential role in their lifelong learning.  Most of our students are highly-motivated working professionals whose companies sponsor their language training. Our clients are concentrated in pharmaceuticals, IT and finance, most of them in Japan.

About NEI

About the Education Director Role
At NEI, each Education Director manages a subset of ~200 subscribers -- a “Mini Institute.” The role helps ensure that each subscriber has a consistent personal relationship at NEI. These subscribers meet with other NEI teachers weekly for individual 1:1s. As head of your own online Mini Institute, you build rapport with the subscribers in your charge, monitor each subscriber’s experience to ensure that it follows the learning plan and that the frontline teachers are addressing the subscriber’s current focus skills. You are a cheerleader, coach, and ally. This position involves approximately equal amounts of time: 

  • Assessing students’ skills on the NEI rubric. 

  • Meeting with students to discuss their learning plan and ongoing progress assessments. 

  • Monitoring the automated assignment and discussion topic recommendations for good fit.

  • Maintaining subscriber engagement and renewals. 

 
 

Requirements

  • 3 or more years teaching English as a second language to adults

  • TESL degree or TESL certificate

  • Native proficiency of North American English*

  • Digital native equivalency

  • Customer service experience

  • Strong team player

  • Highly organized and process-oriented

  • Permanently based in Europe or MENA or equivalent time zone

  • Willing to work Sunday through Thursday 9:00 - 17:00 GMT
    (12:00 - 20:00 if Dubai)

 Preferred: 

  • Experience managing a language school

  • Training in ESL assessments

Compensation

USD $40k - $48k annually, depending on experience.
